SDPF Conference 2009

Peggy gives the keynote address.

Believe in Yourself

The 19th Annual Self Advocacy Conference, sponsored by San Diego People First, was a huge success. The theme this year was "Believe in Yourself." We had dynamic speakers and informative workshops and of course we will have the dinner dance. The conference was held May 9 and May 10, 2009 at the Mission Valley Marriott Hotel. Over 425 self-advocates attended the two-day conference. At the awards dinner many awards were given out. ARC Lexington received the award for Self-Advocacy Group of the Year and and Teresa Priest received the Michael Delisa Award.

The keynote speaker was Peggy O'Neal. Peggy is an advocate for positive living. Having triumphed over many challenges, Peggy now celebrates her uniqueness!
