TRACE Partnership
Partnership Overview
The intent of this partnerships is to support student achievement and to provide mutual assistance and benefit through shared time and resources. The mission statement for this partnership is:
- To promote community collaboration and improve student achievement by supporting teaching and learning in the classroom.
- To educate and support people with developmental disabilities in San Diego County and to encourage individuals to be self-reliant through education, support of peeers, sharing resources and tools, presentations, and the development of leadership skills.
The following partnership activities are planned:
- Providing on-going education to students through instruction while attending local bi-monthly organization meeting that support the mission of San Diego People First.
- Providing opportunities to students with developmental disabilities to attend local annual conferences to further educational opportunities and self-reliance.
- Providing opportunities to students with developmental disabilities to present and attend workshops on such topics as personal safety, abuse prevention, boardsmanship, transportation, leadership, self-determination, dating/relationships, housing, employment, and independent living.
